Job Title: Head of Finance

Company Profile: Millboard is a Coventry based manufacturer in the garden and building material sector that has seen extraordinary growth over the last decade both in the UK and especially through export sales. The job holder will be employed by Millboard’s parent company Elmdene Group Ltd, have responsibility for the accounting of all companies in the group including Murray Uniforms Ltd, and be key in taking the Group to the next level.

Purpose: For Elmdene Group to accelerate its growth and become a respected global organisation, we are looking to recruit a fully experienced Head of Finance.

Scope: This is the top financial role in the Group, with the associated responsibilities. It includes attendance at monthly director meetings, leading the finance team, detailed financial reporting, systems development, statutory compliance including HMRC filing and payments, strategic development of the Group and providing a wider administrative input than purely financial.

o Able to stand back, analyse, suggest improvements and implement them successfully

o Able and willing to give input and assistance to all departments of the businesses

o Committed to achieving agreed reporting deadlines (many at 5 days from month end)

o Keen to help the Group complete the transition to a respected Global organisation

o Able to prepare the Group’s consolidated statutory accounts for audit (RSM)

o Ability to proactively identify and advise on commercial opportunities, including tax

Required Experience:

o Fully qualified accountant

o Minimum of 20 years’ experience working in accounting

o Wide experience gained in at least 3 different relevant businesses

o At least 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing business, in a senior role

o At least 3 years’ experience in a business with turnover £50m+

o Direct experience of: International trading; Foreign currency transactions; Group of companies; Consolidation accounting; Reporting directly to Board (or being a Board member)

o Proven staff management and team leadership skills

o Sufficient knowledge of relevant tax and statutory rules to give proactive advice

o System & Process evaluation, implementation, and customisation

o Wider responsibilities beyond accounting such as Insurance, Legal, Business Analysis
