As this design preference has increased over the past half century, the divisions between garden and home have softened. The invention of the retractable roof in 1963 has been refined repeatedly and contemporary iterations create flawless integration between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Why consider retractable roofs?

Retractable roofs bring an abundance of natural light to indoor spaces and convert outdoor spaces into studies, dining rooms and exciting new living areas. Canopies and awnings are elegant ways to bring these two spaces together, and capture the benefits and characteristics of both areas.

Retractable awnings

Retractable awnings provide a large area of coverage without the need for extensive construction. The shelter is installed on the wall above the area that will be covered and provides protection against rain, sun and wind. A significant benefit of awnings is that they can be folded away when not needed without leaving behind any stands or pillars.

Retractable canopies

Retractable canopies are similar to pergolas in structure. They are made up of a frame which connects to the wall and include a roof that can be folded away when necessary. The benefit of having a structure is that the area of coverage has no limits and can be used to frame an outside seating or dining space.
