The owners of Brentwood House in Essex wanted to update their brick and paving slab terrace. The existing arrangement was difficult to keep clean and patches of algae made it dangerous, especially during the winter. Local firm Decking on Steel was brought in to redesign the space, with a brief to extend the terrace and to create a stylish, contemporary look.
Brentwood House's stunning new terrace includes an expensive space for entertaining friends and family. The built-in seating is flanked by a glass balustrade and atmospheric lighting, achieving a practical and attractive end-result.
For the terrace's surface itself, Millboard Enhanced Grain decking Smoked Oak was chosen both for its visual appeal and for its high-performance characteristics. It has great slip-resistance, even in the wet, and requires minimal maintenance to sustain the deck's good.
